Troubleshooting

Fix the most common instaSpace-for-Word issues — installation, sign-in and loading.

Most issues with the Word add-in fall into a few buckets. Work through these before reaching out.

The add-in doesn't appear on the ribbon

Confirm your Microsoft plan supports add-ins and that an admin hasn't restricted them. If it was deployed centrally, give it time to propagate, then restart Word.

Sign-in fails or loops

Make sure you're using the same account as on the web. Sign out and back in, and check that pop-ups or the embedded browser aren't being blocked by a policy.

The panel is blank or won't load

Close and reopen the panel, then restart Word. A stale cache is the usual culprit, and a restart clears it.

It can't read the document

Make sure the document is fully open (not in protected view) and saved, then reopen the panel.
